Learning a language is quite different from studying other subjects because you learn more outside the classroom than inside! The best way to improve your language skills is to immerse yourself in the language's culture and continue practicing it in your daily life. As an ESL student, you will enjoy numerous opportunities to immerse yourself in the language outside of class, for example, through cultural activities organized by our partner schools, or by socializing with your hosts through our network of host families.

Every student learns at their own pace, but it's proven that the longer you study abroad, the more your language skills improve. That's why we recommend our gap year programs, which last a minimum of two months, to make the most of your stay while exploring your destination at your own pace. If you can't dedicate that much time, you can always opt for an intensive course with more hours in class within a shorter timeframe.
