Student Spotlight: Meet Pasquale Adiletta

Don’t believe us? Listen to our students! After working for 10 years in the vibrant city of Paris as a restaurant manager, Pasquale Adiletta, 29, decided it was time for a new challenge: learning English. "It was always something I really wanted to do," Pasquale shares:

"I love traveling, which is one more reason I decided to take this step. Knowing English makes it easier, especially with my job—it's very important." 

 “The Perfect Fit” 

Pasquale chose Kaplan for his English studies based on a strong recommendation from a best friend who had studied in Dublin. "My friend had a great experience, and she strongly recommended Kaplan to me," he says. "I also did some research online, and Kaplan seemed like the perfect fit." 

Pasquale then enrolled in the 10-week intensive English course. "I start with a 3-hour lesson, followed by a 1.5-hour session," he explains. "I find it really great. It's a perfect combination to learn all the grammar and vocabulary in the first session and then apply it through speaking in the second session."

Pasquale admits that the first week was challenging. "I won't hide the fact that the first week was complicated, but today, I'm so happy," he says: 

"I participate more and more in class, and I can communicate better with my teacher—thanks to my teacher, Josh, and the materials Kaplan provides, like K+ Notes and K+ Clubs." 

Beyond the classroom, Pasquale has also built a social life in Oxford. "If I have a social life outside of school, it's thanks to the friends I made at Kaplan," he shares.

Advice for Other Students? 

Pasquale describes Kaplan as a "super organized school, with a very welcoming environment and very friendly teachers." His advice to other students? "Just have the desire to learn. If you want to, you can!" 

While Pasquale hasn't finished his course yet, he already has a favorite memory:

 "The best moment so far was the photoshoot day," he says with a laugh. "I hope I was useful, ahah." 

Pasquale has ambitious plans for the future. "I hope to gain professional experience in an English-speaking country, maybe the USA or Australia," he says. "I hope that with this training, I'll reach a level where I can successfully interview in English."
