サンフランシスコはアメリカの中でも素晴らしい料理が食べられる都市のひとつなんだ。実際、サンフランシスコはアメリカで一番と言う人もいる。ここへ来たらまずは餃子を試してみるといいよ。サンフランシスコには非常にたくさん中国人が居て、世界一大きいチャイナタウンがあるんだ 。タラヴァルストリートの端にある、“Kingdom of Dumpling”をチェックしてみて！地元の家族が経営してる小さなレストランなんだけど、色々な種類の餃子を作っているんだ。僕のお気に入りのひとつで、まだそれほど観光客にも知られていないんだ。
もし本物のアメリカンフードが食べたいなら、17ストリートとカストロストリートの角にある有名なレストラン“Orphan Andy’s”に行ってみて。レストランの中は昔ながらのアメリカ風。そこに行くなら本当にお腹を空かせて行くといいよ。僕がOrphan Andy’sを気に入っているのは、24時間営業だから夜遅く出かけていても行けるんだ。そして、これぞ20世紀のアメリカ料理というものが食べれるよ。
もしアイスクリームを食べたい気分なら、ヘイト・アシュベリー地区のフレデリックストリートとカールストリートの間、コールストリートにある“the Ice Cream Bar”を是非チェックしてみて！ここはすごくたくさんメニューがあって座席のあるお店なんだ。散歩する時のお気に入りなんだけど、長時間歩いた最後にthe Ice Cream Barに立ち寄るのが好きなんだ。Orphan Andy’sと似た感じで昔ながらのアメリカ風に作られているけど、座って休憩が出来て居心地がいいんだ。なんといっても観光客が多くないのがいいね！
San Francisco is one of the great food cities in the United States. In fact, some people will say that San Francisco is the best food city in the United States! One of the first things you should try when you come here are Chinese dumplings. San Francisco has a huge Chinese population and the largest Chinatown in the world. At the edge of town on Taraval Street, check out Kingdom of Dumpling. It’s a tiny restaurant operated by a local family, but they make every kind of dumpling. It’s one of my favorites, and very few tourists know about it!
If you want to have real American diner food, check out the famous restaurant Orphan Andy’s at the corner of 17th Street and Castro. The inside of the restaurant looks like an old-fashioned American restaurant, and the restaurant really hungry if you want to go there. One of my favorite things about Orphan Andy’s is that it’s open 24 hours, so it’s a great place to go if you are out late. It’s also a great example of 20th Century American food.
If you’re in the mood for ice cream, be sure to check out the Ice Cream Bar on Cole Street between Frederick Street and Carl Street in the Haight-Ashbury District. This is a great sit-down ice cream bar with a huge menu. I like this one because it’s in a nice part of the city for walking, so the Ice Cream Bar is a great place to finish if you’re out for a long trip on foot. It has a similar feeling to Orphan Andy’s in that it’s made to look like an old-fashioned restaurant, but it’s a comfortable place to sit down and take a break. And again – not too many tourists!
